Indy 500 and Office Banter!

Indy 500!
This past weekend was great! The Indy 500 was amazing, very hot, but amazing. It was the second closest race in history. I thought it was great that the Andretti’s (father/son) finished second and third!! Although if that were dad and I out there, dad – your gunna lose (sorry, but I just can’t let ya beat me!) The group that sat on the right of us were great. They were saying it was “Girls take your shirts off” hot. However, their wives didn’t seem to go for it! Fun group! It was nice to see 300,000 race fans dripping in sweat for 6 hours…boy did we smell good. A couple announcements were made to drink more water than “adult beverages” but that didn’t seem to slow down any of the drinking. People seemed to drink anything that was cold. Besides water/beer, the other necessity was sunscreen. The lady in front of me burned her back pretty good. I have to say, the three of us kept reapplying our sunscreen, and we still go a lot of color!

The Purdue band played very well! Florence Henderson – the crowd out sang her in the national anthem!! (well done race fans) Staind – not bad…it wasn’t upbeat enough for the fans though. Last – the celebrity parade and the guy a couple rows in front of us…almost every car with a celeb in it the guy would yell “who are you?” and one guy (I want to say Patrick Dempsey) yelled back “I don’t know” while everyone else seemed to ignore him. Ahh, goods times at “the greatest spectacle in racing!”

Let the Banter Begin!
I come into work today, go to say hello to the new guy that sits across from me to find Ohio State University crap on his desk. Yes, that would be in the crap category! His computer is not yet working, so he is sitting elsewhere for the time being, and I decided I should go say hello and inform him the OSU people are a bunch of drooling booger heads! For some reason he didn’t agree and asked who I liked as far as Big Ten. Then he went on and began to bash Purdue. BIG MISTAKE!! As for revenge – I plastered his cube with GO PURDUE signs in Purdue’s colors! I am very proud of myself. When it comes to bantering – I have too much fun with it!

Yet another Turds-day

Ahh, today I almost over. Almost being the key work. I wish I was having one of those days where I was thinking about seeing purple people easters eating orange popsicals, but i am sad to say, it is not one of those days. It is just a typical day. Bart woke me up at 5am running around in circles as if he was running a 10k race. Someone failed to tell him that they don't hold 10k races in our home. Sean, you really need to make sure you inform my cat of this next time he hangs out with P-nut. I swear that dog puts ideas in Bart's head.

Yesterday was rather odd...my boss pulled me in his office to "chat" and chat we did. We did the work talk, then I asked about his daughter, moved on to him taking a half day on Friday, then i bounced to me - how he wants me to find a nice guy. I was like WHAT. He was being truely sincere, but it as just funny. He told me he wants me to find someone that compliments me. So I told him that I was getting to know a guy, who is very nice. Conversation ended shortly after and I went home. This morning I go in his office to say good morning, and he pulls me in to sit, full of smiles, and said "maybe this guy could be the one!" Yes, my boss can drive me crazy, but he sure has his cute moments. I told him to slow down..we are still getting to know eachother, but thanks for the hopes. It is nice to know he cares and wants me to be happy. I think he wants me to be more than my job, and yes, he can still drive me nuts!!

Christine and Sean - please drive safe. I wish I was going to be in town so I could see you while you are in W. Virginia. Christine, I wish you the best of luck with you new position and I hope you the world of happiness. Sean, please get Christine there safely! I love you both very much and I will truley miss having you 6 hours away.

I best get ready to head out. Have some work to do before "the boy" comes over.

What Kind of Sports Car Are You?

I'm a Chevrolet Corvette!

You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.

Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.

Tear/How about some cheese with that?

When I was younger television shows and movies never made me cry, and I prided myself on that. I would make fun of my mom if she would tear up in a movie – “Mom, it’s just a movie” I would say.
Nowadays, I find myself tearing up so easily. I was watching a movie, now I can’t remember what it was, but there I was, a blubbering idiot!! I must be growing up. But that makes you not want to watch movies with a guy – you don’t want to cry at the stupid things in front of guys, girlfriends okay – but not guys.

This past weekend was great. Saturday I relaxed with Mom and Dad. Mom and I picked out new glasses for dad – he will get them in about a week. Shall be interesting. Sunday, I hung out with the boy. We went to lunch and wine tasting at one of his favorite wineries. I had never been wine tasting, but I had a blast!! It was beautiful outside, and we talked for hours while we had a glass of wine with cheese and crackers. I could have sat there all night, it was so peaceful.

His birthday is coming up – any suggestions of what to get him??

I WANT TO GO HOME

I don’t know what my problem is this week – Monday began and I was happy. It ended with me being tired. Tuesday – tired. Today – tired. I have no motivation to work. None. I spent about a half hour looking at www.retrojunk.com – which I have to say – great site!! You have to go to TV Shows then choose 80’s (well that is what I did at least). But that half hour is gone and now what? I need something to keep me awake until 5:30. I would really love to play a board game – chutes and ladders, candy land, sorry, I WANT TO PLAY!!! Anyone want to come over and play tonight? Although, tonight is dance class, so how about tomorrow night?

Today I hear if my friend got a new job! Then we have to go celebrate. Hopefully Friday or Saturday – I don’t have the energy this week.

Bart – what tell hell is up with him? Last night I was watching tv enjoying a nice cold beer and lots of food. Bart is enjoying jumping on the door every five minutes. When the hell did he start jumping on doors? There was no fly on the door, no spider, or any insect that he would normally chase…the door was clean, yet he was jumping up like a psycho kitty. Usually he meows at the patio door when he wants to go out and play. Jumping on the front door – what weirdo. I think he is taking after P-nut.

So next week my friend is going to be on vacation. I don’t like the idea of her being gone for a whole week. Who is going to joke around me with at work?? Although, I best go take my bummer of an ass someplace else. I do need to email that Jay guy and say enjoy the Iraqi politics with out me. Oh, that was harsh…I will be nice!

Purple Dragons and Orange Lollypops

Today, I get out of bed and I am happy. This is extrememly odd for a Monday, but I went with it. This morning, there was no feeling of tiredness or grumpiness, it was just another day. Now, there is tiredness and grumpiness. The day can't go fast enough - I would like to be home, eating whatever it is I want to eat and hang out with my kitty. This morning he seemed all sad, as he usually does on Monday's as I get ready for work. He enjoys the weekends were we have all day to play, as do I. I hate Monday's. It is the farthest day from Saturday (not including Sunday, since I am still home on Sunday's).

I don't know if I told you all about Jay. Jay is a nice guy I met at my show two weekends ago. Very nice guy - intelligent, good looking, great writer. My co-worker kept trying to hook me up with him and she told me that he was trying to talk to me...but me being me didn't notice and kept saying if he wants to talk then he should say something. (I wasn't in the most compasionate mood - I was working.) I get back to work, and there is this wonderful e-mail from him, and asking if we could meet up. Now I am not the kind of girl that will go on a date with a guy when I am still going on dates with another...so I told him work is busy, but how about meeting up for a drink. He replied back saying he was enjoying a nice afternoon having gaterade and reading about Iraqi politics on his front porch. RED FLAG!! I never read about that or drink gaterade...not my bag! My co-worker and I have been laughing about this all day. Can you see me chatting with this guy, he about his dissertation or Iraqi politics and I about country music and how I love monkeys!! I think I am enjoying my time with Justin and my friends. Oh, and Kyle - I can't use the church bit on Jay, he liked that fact that I was wearing my cross, shows what a good Christian I am. So country music it is...I would play dumb blonde, but I ruined that chance when I met him.

Well I am off to kill my last half hour of work somehow. Any ideas??

As for the post title - nothing came to mind but purple dragons and orange lollypops!

Turds

Thursday I tried to do what most people do - sneak out for a long lunch. As I am sneaking out, I get caught. poop! I can never do it, and I am the worst liar...so I had a half hour of PTO docked from my PTO time. YIPPEE!! But it was worth it. I met Justin at Coastal Flats in Tysons for lunch, and I had the best burger. It was the best because it was so messy - my hands were full of ketchup and other condiments they had put on it for flavor, and my face was covered in the same crap - it was great! However, I did find it necessary to call my brother and say my company is all turds since I got caught. I came back with a smile though!! :)

Last night I hung out with Tim (a friend from Wegmans) and his brother. His brother is one that loves attention, and Tim is the quiet one. I prefer Tim's personality...but his brother was fun to be around. We grabbed a couple beers and Tim and a I laughed while his brother got hit on by someone twice his age!! This lady was trying to get him to dance to a horrible song (that she loved) in a bar that no one was dancing. I enjoyed it!

Today, I am going to clean my place and if the weather keeps up, help dad take a tree down in their yard. The yard and house are beginning to look more like my parents taste. Very simple, yet it has flare.

Happy Frog Jumping Day!!

O...V...E...R

OVER! The show is over, and I have to say it went extremely well!! Very tiresome - but exhibitors and attendees were happy. The next show - Maritime - and that is in September. :)

I am starting to get back into my routine, which is one thing I don't really like to get out of. And now I have time to catch up with my friends...

Bart is growing up. On Sunday he went over to my parents house to get his energy out while I worked. Dad was taking down a tree and I hear Bart was good help. He was chasing all the birds. I have a hunter on my hands!! On Tuesday, I actually was home by 6:30 that night so I let Bart out. I go to call him in at 9:30 to find him chasing a bunny. :( Birds - okay; bunnies - no!! I called his name and he came running back. Good Bart! I would have to say that Bart is very happy the show is over, he is enjoying getting attention again.

Last Thursday Justin took me to lunch, and it was a hour away from work that I needed! Today we are doing lunch again. He leaves tonight to see his parents for the weekend (Mother's Day), so lunch it is. It will be nice, and my mind won't be a 1000 different places this time.

This weekend should be good. I am going to help dad take down another tree, then Sunday is mother's day. That i am still trying to plan. Bernice (their neighbor) isn't here, which is a bummer, she is always great company. I would like to do something nice, since she has been such a huge support over the past couple years.

Once more thing - politics. I am getting sick of it all. Living in the DC area, you really need to stay on top of it all...but it gets old people, it gets old real fast. Yes, Congressman Goss resigned...I DON'T CARE WHY...he made a very poor decision and he resigned because of it. LET IT GO. Why do we, the people, find a need to pry and pry and pry until we find why he resigned? Are we really that big into gossip? That is all it seems to be to me. Let's dig up dirt on everyone and publicly humiliate them. Oh, then there is the twerp that wants to go on TV and hold his breath for 9 minutes. What idiot would do that? If he wants to die on tv - let him die. It was his own stupidity. That is a cry for attention, and to me, he made a fool of himself.

Okay, I best go finish getting ready for work. After all - I need to be there on time if I am taking a long lunch!! Something my CEO frowns upon!

One More Week

In one week, I will be surviving my last day of the show. Today, I am trying to survive the show. I am beyond exhuasted, yet I can't sleep good. I can't complain, becuase it is my job, and I am doing it the best I can, and I enjoy show time. We have just had two doosey of shows right in a row. It will be nice when it is over.

Okay, I am going to go drink coffee and stare out my patio doors to the garden I planted that failed to grow. I don't get it! What did I do wrong? I watered them, but not over watered. As for under water - don't think I did that eitehr. Remind me to find a guy some day that can garden, cos Lord knows I can't!
